AB0308 FALL RISK EVALUATION WITH COMPUTERIZED DYNAMIC POSTUROGRAPHY IN RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS PATIENTS

چکیده
Background Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have a higher risk of falling due to pain and physiological/biomechanical deformities (decreased muscle density, decreased functional stability, changes in gait, etc.) [1]. Although high incidences falls been reported RA patients [1], there are not sufficient data regarding patient-specific fall risk. Objectives The aim this study was evaluate risk, via computerized dynamic posturography, patients, compare the results those age-matched healthy participants. Methods A total 29 (9 males, 20 females; mean age: 54.4±6.5 years) 18 participants (7 11 53.6±7.1) were included study. Detailed demographic, physical, medical characteristics recorded. Dynamic balance tested which assesses responses induced postural disruption [2]. translational ramp test (speed: 0.1 m/s), sinusoid tests (frequencies: 0.25 Hz - 0.50 Hz), limits stability evaluations applied. Ramp evaluated eyes open closed, antero-posterior direction, instructed keep their during tests. Limits on static platform, open. During test, told carry pressure center as far possible by performing movement only from ankle (in all directions), without lifting feet, trying fall. Results groups similar terms demographic physical (p>0.05). showed statistically significant alterations compared (p<0.05) (Table 1). positive 31% 5.6% control group (Figure Table 1. Cutaneous manifestations in patients with rheumatoid arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory joint disease with different extra-articular manifestations. Among those extra-articular manifestations, there are significant cutaneous manifestations which may result in first admission to a dermatologist. In this article some specific and non-specific skin lesions of RA such as rheumatoid nodules, exacerbated nodules, rheumatoid vascu...
متن کاملHearing status in patients with rheumatoid arthritis
Background: Previous studies showed that one of the complications of rheumatoid arthritis disease was auditory disorder. The goal of the present study was to compare the auditory status in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and healthy individuals. Methods: In the present case-control study, 30 normal persons and 60 persons with rheumatoid arthritis with mean age of 46.72 and standard deviatio...
متن کاملLiver Toxicity in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients Treated With Methotrexate
Background:Methotrexate (MTX) is one of the most commonly used disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) which can be associated with toxic effects on different organs. This study was designed to investigate the hepatotoxic effects in RA patients treated with MTX. Methods: In this cross-sectional observational study, RA patients who received standard d...
متن کاملModified head shake computerized dynamic posturography.
PURPOSE Recent research on head shake posturography has demonstrated a modest increase in sensitivity to identifying peripheral vestibular system asymmetry when horizontal head movements were added to portions of the standard Sensory Organization Test (SOT) battery. However, limitations with respect to the head shake protocol were outlined, and usable data for assessing performance could not be...
متن کاملVestibular evoked myogenic potentials in patients with rheumatoid arthritis
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune systemic disease. Most common autoimmune diseases are multisystem disorders that may also present with otological manifestations, and autoimmune inner ear disease accompanied by vestibular dysfunction. This study aimed to compare the vestibular function between RA patients and normal subjects using cervical vestibular evoked myogenic...
